Three hundred and thirteen cases of the uterine myoma were treated during 4 years period from January 1986 to December 1989, at department of obstetrics and gynecology, Maryknoll Hospital. The results were as follows; 1. The incidence of myoma among 1,328 cases of major gynecologic surgery during 4 years was 23.6%. 2. The frequence of myoma was most common in the age group 40¡49 years (56.6%). 3. The infertility was observed in 23 cases (73.3%), in which the primary infertility was in 22 cases (7.0%) and the secondary was in 1 case(0.3%). 4. The coporeal myoma was observed in 306 cases(97.8%), cervical in 7 cases(2.2%). 5. the most common symptoms of myoma was pain(86.6%), and the next abnormal uterine bleeding (58.1%), palpable mass(19.4%), and leukorrfea(15.7%), and general symptoms(12.1%). 6. The hypermenorrhea was observed in 137 cases (43.8%). 7. The dysmenorrhea was observed in 73 cases (23.3%). 8. The most frequently associated diseases in myoma were adenomyosis of the uterus (14.7%) and chronic cervicitis (12.1%), and ovarian cyst and tumor(6.3%). 9. Anemia (less than 10.0gm%) was found in 94 cases (30%). 10. Total abdominal hysterectomy was performed in 305 cases (97.4%), myomectomy in 4 cases (1.3%), and vaginal hysterectomy in 3 cases (1.0%).
